Creation of a “Reliable Storage System”

The three partner institutions agreed to create an archival system which would ensure that the extensive and growing amount of digital object data would be accessible to the research community in the long term. As part of this project, the MWW created an archival system based on the OAIS model. Not only does it serve as the basis for the entire → Virtual Research Room of the MWW Research Association, it represents a model for other institutions which also face the challenge of sustainably and reliably storing their object data on a permanent basis.
